Sam Foulkes No Longer Coral’s Head of Trading

Sam Foulkes left Coral, just five months after being appointed as Head of Trading. Foulkes announced his decision of resignation in December 2015 and he stepped down in February 2016. Being happy with the results achieved while working in the firm, former Head of Coral Trading announced that he leaves the company with positive feelings. In an interview, Mr. Foulkes announced that he already has a few job proposals but he’s still considering the options and still doesn’t have any future plans.
Mr. Foulkes had been working for Coral since 2012. Before joining the team, he had been working for rival company William Hill, where his last position was Trading Director. Initially, Mr. Foulkes was heading the sports team but in September 2015, he took the role of Coral’s Head of Trading due to the restructure in their trading division. The concept of those organizational changes occurred by the time the company planned to maximize their effects and achieve a keen alignment between the retail and trading functions. As a result, Mr. Foulkes was moved from his previous position of sports manager in Stratford to head of trading operations of Coral Interactive in Gibraltar. Along with some of his previous tasks, Foulkes assumed the responsibility for the customer profiling team. This new role included outlining plans for dealing with all matters risk and ensure that all financial risk decisions are made in London. The new role required reporting to Dave Brown, the Stratford-based trading director. Some of the last year’s changes in Coral Group also included another switch – the head of Coral in-play, Danny Greer, became head of sports and started working together with Daniel Bahman. The changes also resulted in splitting the trading division into two separate teams, including the in-play and the pre-match. The news that Foulkes step off from the post of head of trading came in the middle of the probe period before the merger between Gala Coral and Ladbrokes gambling companies. The merger between the two companies was agreed in July 2015 but the first phase of the in-depth probe started in December 2015. The future union is expected to generate over £2.3bn and will be called Ladbrokes Coral. The second phase of the trial phase is expected to be completed by the end of June 2016.
Coral’s spokesmen confirmed Foulkes’ leave but announced that they haven’t found a replacement yet and the position is still open. The company will need a strategic leader, so our team is looking forward hearing the new name of the person who will sit on Foulkes’ chair..
